story / materials
fabric is where a garment begins.
At unisecon, fabric is where a garment begins.
We work mostly with natural materials, for their touch, weight and irregularities. We look at how cloth falls on the body, how it gathers, folds and builds volume.

weaving & piecing
Weaving and piecing return throughout the collections.
Often we begin with a whole piece of cloth, cut it apart, then put it together again, rearranging, joining, weaving and layering. A change in direction, order, thickness or density changes the weight of the cloth and the way it falls.
The process is simple and often intuitive.
cut / piece / thread / layer.

The same movement is repeated many times. Slowly, the hand and the material begin to change what was there.
Often, we simply do the same thing over and over.
