weave: a quiet gathering of craft & story
weave — a gathering of craft and conversation
June 13–15, 2024
Opening evening: Thursday, June 12, 5–8 PM
UNISECON, 35 Orchard Street, NYC
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the quiet joy of spending time with two artists whose practices speak in soft, patient gestures — Emma, the mind and hands behind Everyone’s Mother, and Lizzie, the metalsmith behind AMES.
What began as a few gentle conversations — about memory, materials, and making — turned into a shared wish to place our work in dialogue. The result is weave, a small gathering at the UNISECON store where three distinct languages of craft meet in the same room.
Emma brings one-of-a-kind pieces made from antique lace passed down through generations. Lizzie shows silver from her Weaver series — hand-forged works that seem to hold time in their weight and detail. And from UNISECON, handwoven garments and textiles shaped by heritage and quiet experimentation.
This is not an exhibition, exactly. It’s a soft-spoken meeting of stories — of lace, of metal, of thread. A space where the word “craft” stretches beyond technique to mean something more: care, connection, continuity.
We invite you to join us for a few calm days of shared presence.
The space will be open June 13–15, from 12 to 7 PM.
We’re also hosting a small opening gathering on the evening of June 12, from 5 to 8 PM, with drinks and small bites.
Come spend a moment with the works. Listen to the stories in their texture. We’d love to see you there.
